Oh I agree, I play Overwatch casually and couldn’t care less about my rank, in fact I exclusively play quick play even after 150 hours. But Starcraft is inherently competitive to me due to its 1v1 focus and even without caring about my rank I still find it too stressful and hard to play without a ton of time invested. When I do play it, I prefer to play the campaigns or coop. 1v1 is too time consuming even without caring about rank and only playing unranked.

Starcraft. I still love playing through the campaigns and coop, but I don’t have the time or energy to keep up with the 1v1 anymore. Used to play it a ton back before Legacy of the Void, but you basically have to treat that game like a second job in order to be competitive and not get destroyed most of the time. I remember going like 3-4 days without playing back then and it’d take me 3-5 hours to get back up to my usual level of play.

It’s still a lot of fun to watch pros or high level players play the game though, at least IMO.

Unfortunately true, but at least Poilievre is nowhere near as batshit crazy as the republicans are. Still fucking sucks that the cons are most likely going to win though. At best things will continue to get slowly worse like they already are, and at worst, things will degrade faster.

Either way the average Canadian isn’t getting any help from whoever wins the next election.

I’ve experienced -50c where I live, it’s typically only for a few days per winter but those days are absolutely terrible. It literally hurts to breathe when you’re outside and you can feel your nose freezing up, and your eyelashes freeze shut if you blink too long or too much.

Even a quick 5 minute walk is excruciating. It’s always a good reminder of my mortality to be outside in that weather, being locked out of warmth would be a quick death sentence.

It’s just a common way to call someone an idiot where I’m from 😅

Mushrooms.

Everything about them disgusts me, from the way they look, to the way they smell, the texture they have and the disgusting mouldy, dirty taste. Even seeing them growing in the ground grosses me out and I’ll take a wide path around them to avoid going near them.

Outside of magic mushrooms, they have literally zero redeeming qualities. I hate them with a passion and it’s basically the only food I never grew out of hating.

Unfortunately for the bears, it’s duck season, not wabbit season!

Tbh I find it much more surprising that there’s an overlap of bears and stupid people than I do smart kids and dumb adults.

I’ve met an unfortunate amount of people that would struggle to dump water out of their boots with the instructions written on the bottom of the sole.

After hexbear got defederated from most of the major instances, the fucking losers just make alts on different instances so they can continue defending that propaganda filled shithole. Now .ml seems like the new worst, no matter what you do these no-life losers will find a way to spread their bullshit.

Takes much more effort to try and stop them than it does for these losers to make alts unfortunately.

I’m kinda mixed on it so far, I feel like I should’ve gone with something like Endeavour OS or something similar. Using a more commonly used distro would simplify troubleshooting and provide a bigger user base to siphon information from. I don’t have any problems with Bazzite but I’m kinda feeling like I’m missing out by not using something a bit more complex tbh.

I’ve read about rpm-ostree and my impression is I’d rather not use it to install anything if I can avoid it, which also feeds into my desire to use a different distro.

Bazzite comes pre-installed with distrobox and boxbuddy, I’ll need to put more effort into learning how to use it. I’ve read up on the basics of it but I haven’t yet put in the effort to fully understand that program.

I hate discord as much as the next lemming, but it’s meant to be a quick chat style service, so lack of proper spelling and punctuation doesn’t bother me like it does on most other social media. As long as the information you get from others is correct, who cares about the spelling tbh.

I’m perfectly fine with that, in fact I’d like to learn more about how to use the terminal in detail cause I find it fun. Part of why I switched to Linux is because I’m bored of Windows, among many other issues it has these days. Learning a new OS is fun, I’m enjoying my time with Linux so far.

You’re the 2nd person to bring up my choice of Bazzite, I don’t have much installed yet so I’m open to switching to another distro if that’ll make things easier for what I want my system to do. I almost installed Endeavour OS but ended up going with Bazzite because I’ve heard that Arch distros can be a pain to keep up, but I’m speaking out of ignorance, I still know barely anything about Linux.

Basically I want something at least somewhat stable for a Linux noob, but I don’t want something like Ubuntu or Linux mint, I’d prefer a more “intermediate” distro over a beginner one like the previously mentioned distros. Building Arch from scratch is a bit much for me for example, but I don’t want it overly simplified either. What would you recommend for a distro?

Yes I’m trying to install the Plex media server app so that I don’t have to boot back into windows whenever I or my family wants to use Plex. I don’t have a dedicated server so I just install it on my main pc. Still haven’t figured out how to get it installed tbh, any help on that front would be much appreciated!
