“acting without acting”
“acting without acting”
I’m a developer and android is more friendly to developers, i have more control over my device. I can use any browser without being stuck with Safari. If i don’t like my phone i can choose from many more manufacturers without losing my apps and subscriptions.
I think most of all i have problem with Apples culture, their smugness and acting like they invented everything. I don’t think I’m their target audience.
This is the worst example of enshittification I’ve seen from Google. I think it’s time to start considering iPhone.
John Scalzi’s book are an easy read. Its a lightweight Sci fi though.
Old Man’s War, and Starter Villain are the two of his books I’ve read and enjoyed.
I gave up on Faucalts Pendulum. I liked the first chapter, but the following chapters were… Yes, dense is a good word for it.
The program needs to store multiple temporary files (one per virus definition update, or scan results or whatever purpose).
It looks like they simply picked sqlite as a format because the data has a structured format and that way they leverage databases robustness, easiness to read and query the data.
The comment appears to be from 2006. Sqlite mightve had some limitations then that necessitated creating a new (temporary) database file as a subset of larger database for performance reasons or to allow multiple processes to read/write them and then consolidate data back into the single database.
If this were true we would still be riding horses.
Yaml is more human readable/editable, and it’s a superset of json!
If you’re planning to get the 3rd gen x1 yoga, don’t. I had to disable thunderbolt ports in BIOS to get it to sleep correctly. Otherwise touch screen would not work after wake. And stylus doesn’t work correctly with Wayland. It stops working after few seconds of use.
I use ThinkPad X1 yoga with Fedora 40 (Gnome)
I’m pretty sure those games and movies are age-restricted.
I dont think i had this problem, but then again i had been learning a few years by watching movies and listening to songs before i met some actual English speakers. The benefit of a two way conversation is you can always ask them to repeat.
One annoying thing though is you can’t scroll terminal on a touchscreen, it’ll just start selecting text. Maybe there’s a non default terminal with touch support.
Your best bet may be to boot from usb and see for yourself how well your laptop is suppored out of the box.
I have a thinkpad yoga, and when using wayland (Fedora 40 Gnome), the stylus is unusable - it stops working after few seconds of drawing and I have to reopen the app. In X it works fine.
Thanks, i might start using that so i can continue work while it’s installing. Even if I’m going to reboot later, i won’t have to wait for it to install before using the system.
I’m an annoyed fedora user and it seems every day there’s an update that requires reboot to install. I want the latest patches to keep the system secure, but this is annoying, and I use 2 laptops.
I’m sure the British museum will take a good care of it.
Good, I’m happy for iOS users. They always wait patiently for the features and they often come in a polished form.
Yeah, like at night it falls down to 0
I think seat type depends on riding posture. Wide seat is suitable for a city bike, where you seat upright.
