Two years later it’s becoming insanely clear they hit a wall and there isn’t going to be much change unless someone makes a miraculous discovery. All of that money was dumped in to just make bigger models that are 0.1% better than the last one. I’m honestly surprised the bubble hasn’t popped yet, it’s obvious we’re going nowhere with this.

Emulation is almost never 100% accurate, that’s why seemingly perfect emulators like Dolphin still get updates. They mimic the original hardware as closely as possible but there are still bound to be some bugs and games that don’t work perfectly. The best emulators are more like 99.9% accurate.

N64 emulators aren’t that good, so you’ll get occasional graphics errors and crashes.

Like the Mario 64 recompilation, this isn’t running on an emulator, but is totally native. That means it runs smoother, has zero issues that you might get from emulation (like inaccuracies), and makes it so much easier to mod and extend it. You can see some of the features on the page like autosaving and playing on high framerates.

I’m pretty sure that was the beta version of this update. The stable version hasn’t been updated in years.

It’s always funny to me when voice actors have no idea what their character does or how popular the game is. Still nice to see he enjoyed voice acting him.

To add to what everyone else said, it’s also because mod creators are so fed up when pirates complain the mod doesn’t work. I used to frequent a modding forum and you’d be surprised how many people beg for support only for everyone else to realize they pirated an outdated version or something.

You can buy an entry-level music instrument at around that price. That’s what I did a while ago and while it wasn’t life changing it was a lot of fun to have a new hobby.
